The Venture Café Foundation believes that anyone with an idea should feel empowered to become a successful entrepreneur. The Venture Café’s mission is to connect the innovation community, expand the definition of innovation, and build a more inclusive innovation economy in order to achieve our vision.
The Venture Café Boston operates spaces (District Hall, Roxbury Innovation Center and Venture Café Kendall), programs (Innovation Visitors Bureau and Captains of Innovation Program) and initiatives (Café Nights, StartHUB, Veterans Entrepreneurship Series, Venture Café Presents and Civic Innovation Conversations) in the greater Boston area as part of the Venture Café Foundation.
The weekly Café Nights @ Venture Café Kendall provides a physical nexus to connect innovators and entrepreneurs through conversations and scheduled programs. These evening gatherings are held every Thursday on the 5th floor of the Cambridge Innovation Center at One Broadway in Kendall Square from 3 to 8 PM.
Visit the Calendar page to see the event details. Remember to check yes on the “Are you a part of an affiliate organization?” box and select CIC or C3 when you sign-in at the Venture Cafe Kiosk.
We believe it’s important to offer opportunities for young people to participate in entrepreneurship and the local innovation ecosystem. For this reason, the Cambridge Youth Outreach Group facilitates three rounds of high school internships annually – two series of winter internships from Cambridge Rindge and Latin School and the Community Charter School of Cambridge, and a round of summer interns through the City of Cambridge.
To make it easier for companies to hire interns, CIC waives per-person fees for high school interns that come through our program.
If you are interested in hosting a high school intern or would like more information, please reach out to us at email@example.com.
CIC is part of The Startup Federation, which is a network of collaborative communities. You can learn more about it here: http://www.1776.vc/
Cambridge Youth Outreach Group
Are you interested in getting involved with supporting professional development for local young people? CIC’s Cambridge Youth Outreach Group offers opportunities to mentor, volunteer, and support for community youth groups and afterschool programs. We know that entrepreneurs are busy, so we offer many levels of commitment – as simple as a one-hour Minute Mentor session or as involved as sponsoring a local youth through Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
Examples of our volunteer opportunities include serving on a career panel for high school students, facilitating an elementary school field trip, and professional coaching for student entrepreneurs.
